Neil Garner Performance Engineering

Neil started out as a road car mechanic and after 5 years at college gained a HNC in Motor Vehicle Engineering and Management providing an excellent start to further develop his career. Neil then joined BMW and continued his training as a BMW Technician

Neil's passion for racing soon led him to search out a career in Motorsport. Employed as a Mechanic for Harrier (GT1) he helped build and run their British GT car, the car manufacturers also built and ran a road car form which Neil developed his skills which included making the complete wiring looms from scratch

Harrier GT1 quickly developed and soon were involved in a huge undertaking to design and build a composite chassis Judd V10 powered GT1 Sports Car. The company changed its name to "Sintura" and with a team of only 9 staff the Sintura GT1 was born. For this project Neil was involved in fabrication, design, plus the pattern and mould making for the Sintura's carbon fibre chassis and bodywork

Neil was then promoted to No. 1 Mechanic on the Sintura that led to a very successful season winning races against the GT1 Lister Storm, McClaren F1 and Porsche GT1 - all this is its debut year! The team also took the car over to the USA where they won their class at Laguna Seca

This amazing achievement soon came to end as the major sponsor pulled out of the project, but Neil soon found work with another top team - Lister Storm - running one of their GT2 cars and was again involved with 'in house' car build

The Lister Storm GT2 won the FIA World Championship that year with the British car in a close second

Neil's passion and enthusiasm for Motorsport developed and led to the pinnacle of Motorsport - Formula 1. Employed on the Test Team for Arrows F1 Neil had his first taste of F1 Racing Technology, this all came to an unfortunate end when Arrows F1 Team sadly finished

Soon after Neil was working in New Zealand involved in a Touring Car and then a LMP900 Le Mans project.

Then in 2002 Renault F1 employed Neil on their Test Team. Working alongside a young Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button getting hundreds of testing hours experience under his belt, the following season he followed Fernando to the Race Team working on his chassis building, running and preparing his winning Race Car.
