Heater control unit for Fan Overide

A great little mod here by Anthony that uses one of the dial on off switches and the led on the heater control panel for what is normally for heated seats which many dont have.

In summer one of my two cooling fans died. While I waited for the new fan to arrive I decided to fit a fan override switch to give the one remaining fan a head start cooling me down in traffic.

I didn't like the idea of using the dash light switch by the left knee as I still use this for the dash lights. On a previous occasion I've had the centre console out and noticed all four rotary dials in the heater unit come with on / off switches built in. I thought I'd be clever and try use on of these for my fan override switch.

Dash Light Dimmer Mod

The standard driving lights on the Griff a little on the dull side, and it’s not helped by the dash lights being super bright, well at least my yellow ones are. I thought I'd try make the night driving more comfortable but building a dash light dimmer.

HID Light Upgrade

Ian Barrett has Kindly submitted this info on his HID upgrade. There are a couple of options out there to make the tea lights that the Griffith has for lights. One is running seperate feeds to each light which does help( you wont have the one even dimmer tea light then. Another is the light upgrade Sportmotive uses as the same as the last 100 Griffiths. And Ian is doing what the HID upgrade.

Alternater Bearing Change

My alternator bearings have started to do a wife, i.e. whine, so I need to replace them.I was quoted £250 for a new alternator. Although a search will maybe find them a bit cheaper anyhow I decided i could do the job. The alternator is of my 98 Griffith and it is a Magnetti Marelli item with the following identity:

A127IM - 100A
