Per Terje Laeen has kindly shared with us His LS2 6 litre conversion to his 1996 Griffith LHD. All work was done during Jan-May 2007. There was no cutting, welding or modifications to the tubular frame or fibreglass body. | |
- The LS2 E38 ECM needs some tuning due to the altered induction and exhaust.
- LS2 is the 6 Litre used in the Corvette.
- 400hp @ 6000 rpm and 540Nm @ 4400rpm.
- Redlines at 6500rpm.
- Fuel cut off at 6600rpm.
- TKO600 is 2.87/1.89/1.28/1.00/0.64 Rear is 3.31:1
- 100mph is 3000rpm in 5th.
- Fuel consumption, 2 adults and luggage, average speed 60mph is 33mpg (8.5L/100km)
- There was no space left for AC compressor.

The Clutch and pressure plate from the LS7 505hp 7 litre unit and the Original LS2 flywheel. Modifications to Scattershield to free space for exhaust. A Custom made adapter for the oil pressure sending unit and oil lamp switch. Note the location in end of oil system / rear of engine. Also note the tapping for the brake servo vacuum. The Original LS2 alternator in Situ. Its 145A and big and heavy. Custom made bracket can be seen in the second picture below. | Stainless steel Custom headers with 1.75” primaries and double 2.5” thereafter. The Racing cats from A.C.T Performance Products also full sports system. | | | E38 ECM, MAF, dual Lambas, electric pedal, PWM fan regulator and complete engine harness. All complete and ready to hook up from Speartech. | | A Remote oil filter was used to make space for the exhaust. Here you can see a Custom offset locator for the Gearstick.

| PWM regulator for fans are controlled by ECM and gives speed on demand. Aluminium radiator was made by Docking Engineering. Coolant temp is steady 89 to 92C with original 89C thermostat. | | | The original swirl pot with shortened taps and new mountings. Original expansion pot.
