Monster Griff In Challenge Championship Print

The tvrmonster Griff will be running in the new "Tuscan & Sagaris Challenge championship" next year. This is the new series run by John Reid and is a development of the Tuscan Challenge we raced in this year. We will be running the same set up as this year, but that will hopefully include the SC-Power race aero kit. However, nothing is certain yet as the Series has yet to finalise its format and we may not be able to run wings at all. With some power to weight regs coming in and with several more road based cars entering, it looks like 2008 will be another great year.

The Monster Griff

A limit of 300 bhp at the wheels is likely so that RV8 Tuscan's stay in Group B along with the heavier Griffs, and with at least two Cerberas in the field, we'll have our work cut out. In our "Rookie" 2007 season we were fortunate enough to win several races and were rarely off the Podium which secured the Group B runner up position behind a Tuscan and just ahead of Jonny Wilson's Cerbera in third. This year things may be harder so we can do with all the support we can get.

Mixing It Up

We are running road legal (other than tyres) again in a "run-what-ya-brung" ideology as the car is used extensively for tracking and touring in Europe. We want to represent the regular Griff driver, who can't afford a Tuscan; or who like me...just can't part with his Griff, so the car will remain Taxed and Tested throughout the series. It'll be great to have the support of The Griffith Pages and will be posting regular reports on the cars progress over the season and everyone is welcome for a Mug of Tea and a Bacon Butty at the Monster Marquee in the Paddock. TGP stickers will of course be on the flanks.

I look forward to seeing some of you out there in the coming season. Winter testing will start in Dec/Jan 08, so look out for our first report soon after. Preparations are beginning already with the first set of Gaz M'Sport double adjustable shockers going on the car in the next week or two. These have been supplied by Absolutely Shocks and have been designed by the guy who built Leda shocks for the Tuscan boys...so we are expecting good things.

Podium at Brands

So, if you can make it along please do, and if you are in a company who you may feel may Sponsor the car, please let me know. We want to push the car to the limit of the Roadracer ethos and there's and old saying in Motorsport.

"How fast can it go?"

"How much money have you got?"

There's nothing truer.

Cheers
Andy
